Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is a corporate wellness platform founded in 2012 and headquartered in NYC, connecting employees to fitness, mindfulness, therapy, nutrition, and sleep partners. We are hiring a Mid-level Software Engineer for the BASE Focus Area (Tagus team) in Brazil as a remote position. The role involves participating in the development of critical services, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving services with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience; building integrations with third-party APIs; supporting existing systems to enhance functionality and scale; and working in a collaborative agile environment that prioritizes people over process. The team builds the core of Wellhub’s business model, handling large volumes of data and high availability across a microservices ecosystem.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience

Experience

Architecting large-scale multi-tier web applications
Designing and developing complex modern web applications
Cloud-based architectures (AWS / GCP)
Developing RESTful web services collaborating with front-end teams to create mocks, define payloads and follow the HTTP best practices
Applying computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
Working with SQL/NoSQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls
Proficient in one or more programming languages (Java/Ruby/Go/C++/etc.). Golang will be considered a plus
Communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams located in several countries with different cultures
Ability to articulate ideas clearly when speaking to groups in English
