Research Scientist Bioinformatics na Evotec

At Evotec’s site in Göttingen, Germany, the Bioinformatics department is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Research Scientist Bioinformatics (all genders).

Responsibilities:

• Process and analyze omics (primarily, Proteomics and Transcriptomics) data
• Lead the development of workflows and apps for automated summarization and interactive exploration of screening omics and structural data in the context of Lead Optimization
• Optimize data processing and analysis capabilities by improving existing and developing new workflows
• Support interdisciplinary project teams in various research areas with bioinformatics expertise
• Collaborate efficiently with other scientists within the company and with external partners

Qualifications:

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Computer Science, Computational Biology, or a related discipline with several years of relevant professional experience
• Deep understanding of Bioinformatics methods and tools within the context of compound screens and omics data analysis
• Strong programming skills in at least one programming language
• Experience in software implementation of bioinformatics methods and pipelines
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both in team and independently in a fast-paced work environment
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, capability to organize and communicate complex scientific concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Understanding of drug discovery process is a significant plus
• Experience with R and shiny is a significant plus
• Experience in working with Linux systems is of advantage
