The System Analyst IT is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of SCT’s infrastructure across development, test, and production environments. This role focuses on maintaining and improving Windows and Linux-based systems, virtual infrastructure, and associated storage and messaging platforms through automation, monitoring, and engineering best practices. The System Analyst partners closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and DevOps resources to implement scalable, resilient systems while minimizing operational toil.
Key areas of impact include: automating repetitive tasks, enhancing observability, preparing environments for deployments, ensuring compliance and change control.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Configure, support, and improve Windows/Linux systems, virtualization, and core infrastructure services.
- Reliability & Monitoring: Proactively monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and enhance performance and resilience.
- Automation: Develop and maintain scripts to reduce manual work and promote consistency across environments.
- Security & Compliance: Apply security best practices and support audits to ensure compliance and governance.
- Change & Deployment Coordination – Collaborate with teams to prepare environments, implement changes, and document processes.
- Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing: Advocate for platform improvements, share knowledge, and contribute to an inclusive, learning-oriented team culture.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing Windows and Linux systems.
- Knowledge of virtualization, storage, and messaging platforms.
- Experience with monitoring tools (LogicMonitor, Splunk, or similar).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices.
- Understanding of security best practices, patch management, and access controls.
- Experience supporting compliance and audit processes (ITGC, SOX).
- Ability to coordinate deployments and changes across test and production environments.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
