The Data Center Sourcing Manager, Silicon will own strategic silicon sourcing for Anthropic's global data center footprint, ensuring the right silicon is allocated, committed, and landed at the appropriate site on time and on budget. The role involves day‑to‑day collaboration with engineering, data center operators, silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs, and integrators to secure allocation on constrained parts, negotiate long‑term supply and capacity agreements, manage vendor performance, and optimize lead time, cost, and on‑time delivery against an aggressive deployment roadmap.

Requirements

Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain operations, with a track record across multiple hardware categories rather than depth in just one
  • Operationally rigorous: comfortable owning supplier performance, lead-time discipline, and fulfillment escalations as a regular part of the job
  • Operate effectively under ambiguity and bring structure to undefined problems
  • Influence cross-functional partners and align them around shared standards, even without direct authority
  • Communicate clearly in writing and produce artifacts senior stakeholders can act on without follow-up
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years in sourcing, procurement, supply chain operations, or hardware program management
  • 5+ years of experience sourcing data center hardware at scale
  • Hands‑on experience with operational sourcing instruments (PO management, scorecards, S&OP, lead-time modeling, expedites)
  • Familiarity with data center hardware infrastructure (compute, networking, racks, cabling, CDUs, and other mechanical components)
  • Experience working with OEMs, ODMs, integrators, and service providers across multiple hardware categories
  • Experience supporting large-scale hardware deployments where on-time delivery and supplier performance drove program outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Run end-to-end strategic sourcing for silicon across our data center platforms (CPUs, memory including DRAM and HBM), from vendor engagement and competitive process through supply agreements and ongoing vendor performance management
  • Secure allocation and capacity commitments on constrained parts, and negotiate long-term supply, pricing, and capacity agreements that protect Anthropic's deployment plans through market cycles
  • Own the operational rhythm with silicon vendors: supplier scorecards, allocation and capacity tracking, roadmap alignment, and quarterly business reviews
  • Maintain a market view of the silicon supply chain, including foundry and advanced-packaging capacity, memory pricing cycles, and vendor roadmaps, and translate it into sourcing strategies, qualified alternates, and cost targets
  • Negotiate commercial terms and keep them aligned with platform roadmaps and deployment schedules, with a bias toward execution and on-time delivery
  • Triage silicon supply issues across programs, drive trade‑off decisions with engineering, finance, and deploy operations, and keep stakeholders aligned through ambiguity
  • Build Claude-powered workflows that the sourcing team and partners adopt for vendor benchmarking, requests for quotes, contract analysis, cost and scenario modeling, and reporting
  • Produce the deal memos, supply agreement summaries, vendor business reviews, and operational readouts that engineering and ops leadership rely on to keep programs on track
