Anthropic is seeking an engineering leader to head its Business Technology Engineering organization, overseeing two tracks—Platforms and Forward Deployed—while partnering with internal business functions such as Legal, Security, and Product Operations. The role involves scaling a global team of engineers, driving the roadmap for internal platforms, and ensuring reliable, high‑velocity, and secure operations that enable Anthropic's AI products. The leader will also collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed AI capabilities within business workflows and represent Anthropic’s internal practices to enterprise customers.

USD 405,000 - 485,000

Requirements

Skills

  • 12+ years in software engineering
  • 6+ years leading engineers
  • 3+ years managing managers and at least one organization of 20+ engineers across multiple domains
  • Experience running internal-tools, business-systems, or platform engineering that accelerated feature delivery
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability outcomes on platform side and adoption outcomes on embedded side
  • Strong technical judgment and hands‑on engineering knowledge
  • Skill in communicating trade‑offs with senior leaders such as General Counsel or Heads of departments
  • High bar on engineering craftsmanship with a focus on quality and responsibility
  • Ownership of a frontier AI lab’s internal operations and responsible data/permission handling

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale a global engineering organization, hiring, leveling, and developing leads
  • Partner to define and execute a year‑plus roadmap for Anthropic’s business functions and their integration with Claude
  • Run the Platforms track focusing on reliability, velocity, and scale of Claude Support and shared systems
  • Run the Forward Deployed track managing engagement portfolios, prioritization, handoffs, and adoption
  • Serve as a technical executive partner to leaders in Legal, Workplace, Communications, Product Ops, and Product Support
  • Collaborate with Labs and Product on dogfooding, evaluation, and internal build releases
  • Represent Anthropic’s internal operations to Enterprise customers alongside GTM
