Anthropic’s Developer Experience (DevX) team builds the interfaces that developers and enterprises use to adopt the Claude Platform, including the Console, docs platform, and SDKs. As a Staff+ Software Engineer, you will lead the technical direction for the Console and docs platform, set patterns and standards, and own SDKs across seven languages plus the CLI, ensuring they are idiomatic, ergonomic, and ship quickly.

  • Minimum 8 years of practical full-stack engineering experience, including 2+ years at Staff or equivalent technical leadership level
  • Led the design and delivery of complex, developer-facing products across the full stack
  • Technical expertise in modern frontend and backend development, with depth in key languages and frameworks (React, Typescript)
  • Product-focused approach to building robust, scalable, and easy-to-use solutions
  • Experience working in early start-up or fast-moving, rapidly evolving environments and building products from 0 to 1
  • Strong mentorship and growth mindset for peers
  • Successfully driven cross-team and cross-organizational alignment with influence over authority
  • Established engineering standards, component architectures, and development best practices
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments and navigates ambiguity to deliver high-quality products
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical direction for the Console and docs platform, setting platform patterns and standards and collaborating with product and design teams from problem definition through launch
  • Own SDKs across seven languages and the CLI, partnering with API teams to integrate new platform capabilities and maintain consistent, ergonomic features across all SDKs
  • Lead code generation, testing, and release pipeline to ensure rapid shipping of SDKs
