SpaceXAI is building and operating one of the world’s largest AI training campuses in Memphis, including Colossus and site facilities that support it. As a Facilities Technician, you are the hands‑on crew that keeps offices, support buildings, and grounds in exceptional working condition. This role performs building and grounds maintenance: plumbing and toilet repairs, building HVAC, basic electrical and transformers, carpentry, painting, and general break/fix. You will run work tickets, complete preventive maintenance, and support moves, events, and vendor work across an assigned area of the campus.

Skills
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 2+ years of experience with facilities maintenance.
- Experience in construction, equipment maintenance, and tenant improvements.
- Experience with plumbing systems, drains, lift stations, sewer machines, and pumps.
- Experience with building HVAC troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with basic electrical maintenance, including building electrical and transformers.
- Experience with carpentry maintenance, including drywall installation and/or repair, window replacement, cabinet/countertop replacement, painting/texturing (interior and exterior), and door/hardware installation.
- Ability to read instructions and basic floor plans or blueprints.
- Experience with work-order or project tracking software, MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
- Self-motivated; works well with others and autonomously.
- Safety training and use of forklifts, scissor lifts, and fall protection equipment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Based at the Memphis, TN campus.
- Able to lift 35 lbs. unassisted.
- Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.
- Able to work at elevated heights, including the use of ladders and lifts for building and roof work.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and non-standard schedules as required.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation as assigned for building emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine building maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, HVAC, electrical/transformers, and carpentry requests.
- Conduct maintenance of assigned interior and exterior areas, including painting, patching walls, replacing ceiling/flooring tiles and carpet, fixtures, and roofing systems as assigned.
- Perform inspections and repairs to walls, floors, installed fixtures, doors/hardware, and building envelope.
- Respond to work tickets for leaks, HVAC issues, electrical problems, and general break/fix; complete preventive maintenance on assigned assets.
- Aid janitorial and site staff with general support, including moving furniture and equipment, disposing of construction waste, and set-up and tear-down of special event areas.
- Support campus-wide operations and maintenance programs as assigned by facilities leadership.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when needed.
- Open, track, and resolve electronic work tickets in the site work-order system.
- Adhere to proper safety guidelines at all times.
