Skills
- Capacity, demand, or supply planning experience for large-scale technical infrastructure (cloud, HPC, hyperscale, or a large internal platform)
- Ability to articulate the difference between a forecast, a plan, and an allocation
- Experience building the model yourself using SQL against a warehouse, Python/pandas, or a proper forecasting/optimization stack
- Understanding of data‑center resource classes (storage, egress, CPU, accelerators)
- Preference for simple, inspectable models and ability to instrument forecast error
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- Field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Responsibilities
- Build and own the medium-range multi-resource demand forecast for accelerators, CPU, storage, egress, and managed services
- Run the plan‑vs‑reality loop, diff planned allocations against observed fleet occupancy weekly, surface unrecorded trades and stale allocations, and drive variance toward zero
- Qualify each incoming capacity tranche against the forecast before signature
- Partner with Finance and cost‑efficiency teams to turn the forecast into core drivers covering ≥80% of non‑accelerator spend and aim for savings where waste appears
