Anthropic’s IT Operations team keeps the company running. We’re hiring an IT Operations Engineer to develop a global asset management and hardware lifecycle program across multiple offices. The role involves creating strategies, implementing tools, managing inventory, procurement, refresh cycles, e‑waste programs, BPO fleet operations, corporate mobile, and automation.

  • Implemented an asset management and lifecycle program for a multi-office fleet, taking it from spreadsheets or nothing to a system of record and defining processes around procurement, inventory, assignment, refresh, collection and disposal in a fast-paced or high-growth environment
  • Selected or implemented an asset management platform such as Jira Assets, Snipe-IT or similar, and developed the data model
  • Ran an e-waste or secure disposal program with certified partners and chain-of-custody records
  • Managed reseller or vendor relationships for hardware purchasing and asset disposal
  • Written runbooks, how-to guides and knowledge base articles
  • Recognized when a request reaches past this role and routed platform work to IT Engineering, policy to the Endpoint pod, and budget to Finance
  • Supported a corporate mobile program or carrier account
  • Basic scripting experience (Bash or Python) for inventory or reporting automation
  • Experience using AI tools to improve personal or team productivity
  • Served as the hands‑on asset contact for an ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audit: pulled extracts from the register, produced disposal certificates and evidence of returned assets
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop the global asset management strategy, lifecycle model, data model, and tool implementation
  • Select, implement, and administer the asset management tool and define its integrations
  • Contribute to and develop on‑site processes for engineers in each office, including the storage room process
  • Support evaluation and onboarding of a hardware lifecycle services vendor and manage day‑to‑day relationship
  • Establish and maintain inventory of record across systems, run audits, and reconcile physical counts against the system of record
  • Manage demo, loaner, and travel device inventories and make strategic purchasing decisions for onboarding and stock levels
  • Support hardware purchasing through reseller and vendor relationships, build refresh calendar, and reconcile purchase orders, deliveries and invoices with accounting and vendors
  • Develop device collection and recovery workflows, build e‑waste program, and handle legal hold or chain‑of‑custody requirements
  • Provision, track and recover BPO fleet devices and serve as the day‑to‑day hardware contact for those vendors
  • Run day‑to‑day operations for the corporate mobile program, write its runbook, and manage deployment, break‑fix, and carrier relationships
  • Identify repetitive work throughout the operation and automate it with scripts, system integrations / connectors, and AI tools
