Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or 6+ years of hands‑on operations/facilities work experience in lieu of degree (data center experience preferred)
- Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles and systems
- Experience with critical systems documentation (Plans, Procedures, Operations Manuals)
- Experience with Building and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Experience with PLC‑based control systems and/or Building Management Systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication and technical writing skills in English
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and up to 35 lbs unassisted
- Comfortable working at elevated heights up to 100 feet
- Comfortable working in extreme outdoor environments and in environments with fumes, odors, and noise
- Availability for flexible shifts, including 24x7 coverage, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Independently operate and maintain critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in supercomputing data centers
- Perform advanced maintenance and troubleshooting of critical data center systems such as HVAC, power, and environmental controls
- Oversee maintenance and optimization of power, cooling, and environmental infrastructure
- Ensure MEP infrastructure site safety and environmental compliance with local and regional regulations
- Provide operational expertise for MEP systems, including pumps, piping, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH units, wiring, lighting, generators, motors, water supply, UPS, and switchgear
- Inspect all areas to maintain performance measures and proactively report facility problems
- Write and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
- Perform daily inspections of critical systems
- Maintain spare parts inventory to minimize downtime
- Coordinate and supervise scheduled system shutdowns
- Develop and implement energy monitoring metrics
- Support commissioning efforts by witnessing equipment startup and functional testing
