Anthropic is building a fast‑growing infrastructure fleet and needs a Capacity Planner to transform demand forecasts into concrete requirements, qualify tranches, close delivery loops, and drive automation and reporting. The role operates across research, pretraining, inference, compute supply, finance, and vendors, ensuring capacity is scheduled, healthy, and instrumented. Responsibilities include upstream conversion of forecasts, downstream schedule ownership, and system integration. Requirements

Skills

  • Significant experience delivering large‑scale infrastructure (cloud regions, accelerator clusters, HPC systems, or bare‑metal fleets) at multi‑region scale or ≥10k accelerators
  • Technical range from cluster orchestration and node health up to telemetry and planning tables
  • SQL skills and sufficient Python for reporting
  • A degree in a technical field or equivalent engineering track record

Responsibilities

  • Turn the forecast into per‑tranche requirements and represent them in sourcing negotiations and data center build reviews
  • Qualify tranches for deliverability before signature
  • Close the delivery loop by tracking forecast‑versus‑delivered metrics and publishing variance
  • Own the bring‑up system of record, defining contract‑to‑occupied state machine and integrating with the capacity data layer
  • Run a portfolio of bring‑ups in parallel across cloud, on‑prem, and neocloud regions
  • Drive readiness automation for all new capacity
  • Instrument and publish key metrics such as time‑to‑occupied and paid‑idle dollars per tranche
