Based in Austin, TX, this on‑site role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders across engineering, finance, accounting, and operations to negotiate and streamline contracts, manage compliance, and support the company's mission to advance AI‑driven scientific discovery.

Skills
4+ years of legal experience, ideally through a combination of experience at innovative technology companies and/or excellent law firms (startup experience a plus).
Experience in commercial contracting, with a focus on procurement in tech, software, or infrastructure sectors.
Proven track record of negotiating complex deals for software, hardware, data, infrastructure, or AI‑related technologies.
Tech‑savvy with an understanding or keen interest in datacenters and emerging technologies like AI.
Strong sense of ownership, inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, and can demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
Willing to go the extra mile to support the SpaceXAI mission.
JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of procurement commercial deals, master service agreements, order forms, SOWs, POs, and NDAs.
Partner closely with engineering, finance, accounting, and operations teams to align contracts with business needs.
Support compliance processes.
Create processes for efficient and scalable contracting.
Pitch in for anything needed in the Legal department, even if it’s unfamiliar or not in your lane.
