Anthropic, a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco, is seeking a Corporate Communication Lead to head communications in India. As the first communications hire in India, you will develop and execute strategies to elevate Anthropic's brand, craft messaging, build relationships with journalists, partner cross‑functionally, provide counsel to stakeholders, manage risks, oversee executive engagements, and manage local agency relationships. Skills

  • 15+ years of experience working in communications, ideally at a high growth technology company in a senior in‑house position.
  • Strong record of driving communications in India.
  • Excellent media relations and issues management skills.
  • Deep understanding of the political and regulatory landscape in India.
  • Clear and superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong track record of translating complex technical language into compelling messaging.
  • Enjoy working cross‑functionally with technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Results‑oriented, with a bias towards flexibility and impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Field of study relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communications strategies to elevate Anthropic's brand and effectively communicate our story and momentum in India.
  • Craft messaging and talking points for major company announcements and milestones.
  • Build strong relationships with journalists and relevant influencers.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with sales, marketing, legal, research, and policy teams.
  • Provide communications counsel to stakeholders across the company including leadership.
  • Effectively plan for and manage communications risks.
  • Oversee executive interviews and speaking engagements.
  • Manage local agency relationships.
