Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, software engineering, or related technical roles with focus on large-scale Azure-based microservice environments
  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience managing technical teams, including experience with offshore/distributed teams
  • Demonstrated success managing 50+ microservices in production cloud environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers and Release engineers
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the engineering team, aligning technology initiatives with business goals and objectives
  • Manage cross-functional relationships with development and QA teams to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery
  • Drive team performance, conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and support career development for all team members
  • Establish and maintain effective communication processes for distributed team collaboration
  • Architect and oversee the management of 400+ Azure microservices, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance at enterprise scale
  • Oversee design, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to automate the release and deployment of Azure Functions and other cloud services.
  • Develop and manage the release cycle for Azure microservices, ensuring smooth and timely deployments to development, QA, staging, and production environments.
  • Define and implement branching strategies to streamline development workflows and enhance collaboration between engineering teams.
  • Oversee the deployment and monitoring of Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Service Bus-based services in a pub/sub architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of released services.
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues, monitor services, and ensure high availability and scalability of our microservices architecture.
  • Apply contemporary DevOps philosophies to streamline and enhance the efficiency of software delivery processes.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve DevOps processes, tools, and systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain infrastructure-as-code practices, leveraging ARM templates or Terraform for consistent and repeatable deployments.
  • Contribute to the security and compliance of our deployment pipelines by implementing best practices for DevOps security.
  • Stay up to date with Azure DevOps and cloud technology trends, bringing innovative ideas to improve deployment efficiency and infrastructure scalability.
