Opportunity Summary: A fast-growing, venture-backed startup at the forefront of next-generation hardware is on a mission to revolutionize computing through photonics. With recent funding secured and momentum building, we’re developing scalable, high-performance optical computing systems, and we’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to help drive our first commercial launch. In this role, you’ll take the lead on developing high-speed electrical test systems, designing robust validation tools, and ensuring production hardware meets strict performance standards.

About Us: We’re a well-funded technology company headquartered in Los Angeles, designing and scaling the first high-volume optical computing hardware platform in North America.

Job Duties: Lead the design, validation, and maintenance of test systems for optical interconnect and embedded hardware; Create signal integrity test platforms using controlled impedance routing, high-speed fixtures, and lab-grade tools (e.g., VNAs, BERTs, scopes); Define and own the infrastructure for board bring-up, firmware flashing (JTAG/boundary scan), and automated end-of-line testing in production environments; Evaluate test coverage and ensure performance metrics are met across high-speed SerDes and embedded systems; Analyze failure data from electrical testing, isolate root causes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on corrective actions; Work closely with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to validate designs under real-world operating conditions; Support the transition of test solutions from engineering prototypes to volume production with an emphasis on throughput and reliability.

Qualifications: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; 5+ years of experience in PCB design and hardware validation, including embedded systems or production test platforms; Proficient in schematic capture and multi-layer board layout (Altium or similar), with a strong understanding of design for test (DFT) and design for manufacturing (DFM); Comfortable with hands-on electrical debugging using scopes, analyzers, and other lab instrumentation; Proven success in board bring-up, system-level electrical validation, and root cause troubleshooting.

Preferred Experience: Experience owning or developing electrical test and evaluation platforms for hardware deployed at scale; Familiarity with scripting for test automation and data analysis (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, etc.); Understanding of embedded system boot interfaces (JTAG/SWD), firmware flashing workflows, and system bring-up processes; Background working with cross-functional engineering teams in a production or manufacturing setting; Prior work in startups or high-velocity environments where flexibility and iteration were key to success.

Why Join Us: Be part of a groundbreaking team redefining the future of computing hardware; Work on next-gen optical systems that push the limits of traditional electronics; Collaborate with world-class engineers, physicists, and systems designers; Shape a foundational role in a rapidly scaling company; Enjoy top-tier benefits and an employee-first culture; Relocation assistance to Southern California.

Compensation: $150,000 - $190,000 plus equity.
