This role is for a Construction Electrician who will install and terminate new electrical infrastructure across substations and building electrical systems, working onsite in Memphis, Tennessee. Responsibilities include installing equipment, performing medium‑voltage switching and operations up to 161 kV, conducting quality checks and electrical testing, reading construction drawings, and ensuring safety procedures such as lockout/tagout and grounding are followed.

Skills
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 3+ years of experience working as a licensed electrician.
- Medium-voltage electrical experience, including switching and operations.
- Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance technology.
- Journeyman or master electrician license.
- Switching and operations experience on systems up to 161 kV (substation, industrial, or utility).
- Industrial, substation, or data center construction experience on medium-voltage systems.
- Ability to read prints/drawings and use common test tools.
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and physical tasks (lifting 50+ lbs, working at heights/confined spaces, outdoors in all weather).
- Strong safety focus, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in teams.
- Knowledge of print reading for drawings, manuals, and one-lines.
Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and land new substation and campus electrical equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, relays, buswork, control systems, and batteries.
- Install conduit, cable tray, cable, wire, and terminations per issued-for-construction drawings; perform underground duct bank, trench, and cable-pull work.
- Perform medium-voltage switching and operations up to 161 kV in support of construction and first energization: follow switching orders, isolate equipment, apply grounds, and restore or turn over equipment.
- Perform installation quality checks and electrical testing (voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, insulation megger) and assist with acceptance and commissioning tests on new gear.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work orders.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), grounding, clearance procedures, and PPE requirements on an active construction site.
- Uncrate, set, and dress equipment; climb structures; operate hand and power tools, pulls, blowers, pumps, and portable generators.
- Support construction energization sequences, punch-list closeout, and turnover to operations with engineers and vendors.
- Document work performed, test results, and as-built markups.
- Operate company vehicles and specialized equipment; inspect and store personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform similar or less skilled incidental duties as assigned.
