The team you will be a part ofThe Software Engineering team designs, develops or coordinates development/troubleshooting or debugging of moderately complex software programs for enhancements and new products. Performs high-level design/modeling to convert stakeholder needs into software solutions. Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design. Develops the architectural guidelines, specifications, and technical standards and communicates to stakeholders.

This Role In SummaryAre you ready to lead the development of the next generation of connected home appliances? We are seeking a passionate and driven Embedded Software Manager to lead a collaborative team in Joinville, Brazil. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, developing global embedded software and IoT solutions for our cutting-edge products. This role involves hands-on development in C/C++ and Java, utilizing a variety of microprocessors, SDKs, open-source libraries, and real-time operating systems (RTOS). This position will be based out of Joinville on a 5 days a week on site work arrangement.

Your Responsibilities Will IncludeAs the Embedded Software Manager, you will be a technical leader and a mentor to your team. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing technical leadership and direction for team members - team size could vary from 5 to 10 software engineers

Planning and leading multiple simultaneous software projects in collaboration with distributed teams.

Coordinating software project dependencies with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Design, Product Engineering, and Hardware.

Prioritizing and assigning work to team members.

Planning long-term resource allocation to support the project pipeline.

Acting as the main point of contact between the development team and key stakeholders.

Identifying opportunities, planning, and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.

Presenting to executive-level audiences.

Occasional international travel may be required.

Minimum RequirementsSolid experience leading a team of software engineers as a manager, technical lead, or project manager for embedded systems.

Demonstrated experience with professional software engineering practices across the entire software development lifecycle.

Expertise in the C/C++ programming language.

Experience working with embedded software environments, including RTOS.

Strong project management skills.

Knowledge of electronics, with the ability to read datasheets and schematics.

SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English.

A collaborative attitude and strong drive to succeed as part of a team.

Self-motivated with a strong passion for learning.

A solid understanding of the full product development lifecycle.

Preferred Skills And ExperiencesExperience with other coding languages and paradigms, including Java or JavaScript, with comfort in Object-Oriented programming.

Understanding of or exposure to IoT, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

Proficiency with code versioning tools, such as Git.

Familiarity with continuous integration and testing.

Experience with User Interface Design patterns (MVC, MVP, MVVM).

Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD).

Experience working in a cross-functional and global environment.

Strong critical analysis skills to solve complex problems.
