Skills

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time building platforms, developer tools, or infrastructure for consumer-facing products
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, managing and growing teams in high-growth environments
  • Deep expertise in modern web development stacks (React, Next.js, TypeScript)
  • Passion for developer experience and a track record of building tools and systems that increase engineer productivity
  • Strong opinions on reliability, observability, and performance—and experience operationalizing those at scale
  • Ability to balance technical depth with strategic thinking while staying hands‑on
  • Thrives in ambiguity and can create structure and clarity for teams
  • Effective communication across functions and ability to build alignment with product, design, and infrastructure partners

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the UI Platform team, setting technical direction for reliability, performance, and developer experience across Claude.ai surfaces
  • Own the foundational systems that product teams depend on: shared components, build and deploy pipelines, observability, and performance infrastructure
  • Drive improvements to developer velocity—reducing friction, improving tooling, and enabling teams to ship features faster and more safely
  • Establish and maintain high standards for latency, reliability, and quality across the platform
  • Partner closely with product engineering, infrastructure, and leadership to align platform investments with product priorities
  • Create clarity and direction in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where priorities shift as Claude.ai evolves
  • Build a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within your team
