Anthropic is seeking an experienced Executive Communications Writer to support and scale the ways our leaders tell our story. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Executive Communications and other organization leaders to reach priority audiences and compellingly communicate Anthropic’s position at the AI research frontier, market‑leading commercial posture, and industry‑leading commitment to public benefit. The role involves drafting, editing, brainstorming, on‑site event support, and coordinating executive response to breaking news, all in close collaboration with the External Communications team and other leaders. The position is a hybrid role that requires staff to be in one of the company’s offices at least 25% of the time.

Skills
- 8+ years of high-level executive communications experience, ideally at a high-tempo, industry-shaping organization
- Exceptional writer and communicator — both on the page and in high-stakes, fast-moving environments
- High agency and low ego
- Comfort and experience in supporting senior leaders
- Point of view on how forces of change are reshaping traditional communications disciplines, including executive communications
- Strong operational capabilities
- Self-driven with a bias to action
- Excellent judgment and instincts in navigating ambiguous situations
- Maintain epistemic humility while making informed decisions
- Open and curious mindset to deeply understand technical concepts
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Responsibilities
- Originate and shape exceptional executive communications that span a wide array of written and rhetorical formats and platforms
- Work cross-functionally with External Communications colleagues and other subject matter experts to drive consequential communications moments that serve strategic goals
- Support senior leaders in developing their areas of communications focus and in their preparation for major communications moments
- Balance a collaborative ethic with a strategic point of view
