The job description is: Provide sourcing advice and consult with logistics team to set short-term strategic direction and operating plans for transportation. Responsible for cost reduction, cash improvement opportunities, supply risk management, and sourcing initiatives and tools. May support management of accounts payable ledger and purchase order transaction management. Will assist and may lead negotiations for highly complex sourcing contracts. Responsibilities
- Strategic Problem Solving: Use analytical thinking and leverage market insights, data analytics, and supplier information to develop innovative solutions.
- Sourcing Process Management: Lead LATAM transportation RFPs, cartage, freight audit and other logistics contracts.
- Contract Negotiation and Supplier Management: Negotiate sourcing contracts and build strategic relationships with key suppliers.
- Develop a contract repository system and a methodology for tracking contract expirations. To ensure compliance with corporate sourcing policies and procedures.
- Claims and Cost Management: Manage major claims against carriers. Drive and support the implementation of cost-saving programs and opportunities. Review less-than truckload, cartage, drayage cost structures to identify opportunities for savings.
- RFI/RFP and Contract Standardization: Conduct RFIs and RFPs to identify the most suitable carriers.
- Market Analysis and Process Improvement: Analyze market trends related to transportation to proactively engage suppliers for future sourcing decisions.
