We are seeking a dynamic E‑Commerce Policy Lead to join our Government relations team. The role bridges government relations and e‑commerce, requiring expertise in relevant policy areas. The team covers responsibilities such as government affairs, policy expertise, risk management, outreach, coalitions, and partnerships, with the mission to earn trust and prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats to TikTok. Responsibilities include staying abreast of e‑commerce policy trends in Brazil, driving internal alignment and risk strategies, leading TikTok Shop's public policy strategy for Brazil and across LATAM, building engagement strategies with external stakeholders, leading advocacy, developing policy positions, managing consultants, and working on cross‑functional workstreams. Minimum qualifications include extensive experience in public policy and strong understanding of effective government relations strategies. Preferred qualifications emphasize expertise in legislative, public policy, and regulatory issues affecting e‑commerce, strategic thinking, attention to detail, organizational skills, collaboration, independent leadership, positive attitude, outstanding communication, and proven team leadership experience.

Requirements

Experience

  • Extensive experience working in public policy, and a strong understanding of what makes effective government relations and public policy strategies successful.
  • High level of expertise in legislative, public policy and regulatory issues affecting e-commerce.

Skills

  • Strategic thinker, strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational, prioritization and multitasking skills.
  • Collaborative and engaging, able to work effectively with multiple cross‑functional teams.
  • Outstanding communication and writing skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into simple explanations and compelling messages.

Responsibilities

  • Stay abreast of emerging e‑commerce policy trends and developments in Brazil, and track public policy developments that could impact TikTok Shop, providing insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders on potential implications for TikTok’s business and operations.
  • Drive internal alignment and strategies around risks and opportunities for TikTok's e‑commerce operations.
  • Drive TikTok Shop's public policy and government affairs strategy for Brazil, with an eye towards integration of strategies across LATAM and globally.
  • Build and execute engagement strategies in Brazil with external stakeholders, including with elected officials, government agencies, trade associations and industry partners.
  • Lead government advocacy and public policy engagement in partnership with the Brazil GR team, along with Legal, Comms and business partners.
  • Lead on the development of public policy positions and consultation responses.
  • Manage consultants and establish meaningful relationships with trade associations.
  • Work on strategic cross‑functional workstreams and forums to drive best‑in‑class operation of the business in the region, in partnership with other regional leaders.
