Experience

Skills

  • Backend development with Python, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy
  • Event-driven systems using message queues such as Google Pub/Sub and Kafka
  • Relational database experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL
  • Cloud infrastructure (serverless and service-oriented architecture)
  • Horizontal and vertical scaling patterns
  • Monitoring, observability, alerting, and cost tracking
  • Google Cloud Platform products including Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, GCE, Cloud Tasks, and BigTable
  • CI/CD tools, especially Github Actions
  • Growth mindset and quick learning of new languages and frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English
  • Familiarity with document processing and OCR tools
  • Experience with AI tools for accelerated development such as Cursor and PyCharm AI Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Own back-end feature development from initial idea to launch
  • Own platform stability and maintenance, managing deployment lifecycle of new features and fixes
  • Craft high-quality code, engage in code reviews, and champion technological excellence
  • Write technical specifications translating business needs into robust solutions
  • Engage with cross-functional partners including design, product, and stakeholders
  • Document thoroughly to simplify onboarding for new team members
  • Refine best practices by proactively seeking and implementing improvements
  • Drive engineering planning and processes including sprint planning, effort estimation, capacity planning, and release management
  • Architect and evolve the overall stack, guiding technology decisions and anticipating scaling challenges
