About The OpportunityWe’re looking for a Senior PHP Engineer to lead the design and delivery of web applications focused on financial data. You’ll work end-to-end: build back-end services (PHP, Python), and automate deployments on AWS using modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly available, testable services in PHP (7/8) and Python.
  • Optimize algorithms and data structures for analytics, risk models, and portfolio tools.
  • Build and maintain GitLab pipelines (CI/CD) and IaC (Terraform/CDK) for deployments.
  • Champion observability: DataDog.
  • Leverage EKS, Lambda, EventBridge, RDS/Aurora (PostgreSQL), S3, and ElastiCache.
  • Enforce cost-efficient, secure architectures (IAM, VPC, KMS).
  • Translate complex finance rules into performant code.
  • Lead design reviews, threat modeling, and coding standards.
  • Mentor collaborate with other team members & foster learning-oriented culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Deep experience with PHP (Laravel / Symfony or similar).
  • Deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
  • Proven track record building & scaling full-stack web apps in prod.
  • AWS mastery: at least three of EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, EventBridge
  • Working knowledge of Docker-based micro-service architectures.
  • CI-CD & DevOps: GitLab/GitHub actions, IaC (Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation).
  • Strong SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and REST/GraphQL API design.
  • Advanced English.

Nice To Have Skills

  • Hands-on Python for data pipelines, ML prototypes, or API services.

  • Front-end experience with React/Next.js, TypeScript.

  • Familiarity with SNS/SQS, Redis Streams, or Kinesis.

  • AWS specialty certifications (DevOps, Security, Data).
