Skills
- 5+ years of experience building consumer-facing web products with a strong emphasis on UI quality and user experience
- Proficiency in React, Next.js, and TypeScript, and experience with Node.js on the backend side of the stack
- Genuine care about user experience, including latency, responsiveness, and reliability across devices
- Strong collaboration skills with designers and product managers
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and shipping quickly matters
- Willingness to pick up slack even outside the job description
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for Claude.ai and its features
- Build and ship user-facing features for Claude.ai's web experience
- Own the quality bar for how the product looks and feels, treating latency, responsiveness, and reliability as first-class concerns
- Collaborate tightly with product managers to understand user needs, shape feature scope, and make informed tradeoffs
- Iterate quickly based on user feedback and internal testing, improving the experience continuously
