The Claude Platform is expanding rapidly, and the Distribution team is tasked with transforming the deployment model to make the Claude API a cloud-native, managed product across major cloud providers and Anthropic’s own infrastructure. This role focuses on building scalable distributed systems, leading cross-team technical projects, and ensuring enterprise-grade security, compliance, and operational capabilities. You will work on both cloud service provider integration and enterprise readiness, collaborating with internal teams and CSP partners to deliver robust, secure, and highly available solutions.

Requirements

Skills

  • Minimum of 8 years of practical experience as a backend or platform engineer building scalable distributed systems, ideally operating at tech lead level or equivalent
  • Product-focused approach to platform work
  • Ownership of large-scale infrastructure systems and lead ambiguous, cross-team technical projects from design through production
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure) at scale and/or Enterprise SaaS experience in a multi-tenant context with background in security, compliance, or data residency
  • Full ownership of work from design through deployment and operations
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, or similar systems language

Responsibilities

  • Make the Claude Platform a best-in-class offering on cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) by integrating the API, control plane, and Anthropic features into provider front doors
  • Collaborate across teams such as Infrastructure, Systems, Networking, Databases, Inference to address deep technical problems at unprecedented scale
  • Enhance enterprise readiness by shipping next-gen enterprise enablement features such as key management & encryption, audit APIs, usage visibility, access control, and international data residency
  • Partner closely with core teams and CSPs to make these features available on cloud platforms
  • Lead cross-team technical projects from design through production, ensuring robust, scalable, and easy-to-adopt solutions
