Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field (relevant experience may substitute for degree)
- 4+ years of experience managing critical facilities systems, including power, cooling, and environmental controls
- In-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in data centers
- 4+ years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining critical facilities infrastructure
- Proficiency with building management systems (BMS) and environmental monitoring tools
- Proven leadership experience in critical facilities or technical operations environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead facilities infrastructure projects
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools
- Strong prioritization and time management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Must pass pre-employment and annual post-employment background checks
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted, work at heights up to 50 feet with safety gear, work in environments with noise, perform job functions in confined spaces
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Facilities Operations Technicians, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Oversee maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure, including HVAC, power distribution, and backup systems
- Develop, implement, and optimize preventive maintenance schedules, equipment calibration, and system performance monitoring
- Create and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational consistency and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to streamline equipment intake, installation, and maintenance processes
- Utilize internal applications for inventory and asset management, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting
- Manage critical equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring timely resolution and detailed documentation
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support seamless data center operations
- Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime
- Provide on-call support and respond promptly to critical facilities incidents
