Anthropic’s Infrastructure organization oversees systems that train models, serve products, and support engineering teams across datacenter operations, capacity planning, accelerator clusters, serving infrastructure, developer tooling, data pipelines, and networking. We are hiring a TPM leader to own program management across this entire ecosystem—from compute provisioning to production workloads. The role involves building and scaling a TPM team, driving critical infrastructure programs, coordinating with cross‑functional partners, and ensuring alignment with engineering strategy.

Requirements

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, or experience
  • 10+ years of experience in technical program management
  • 7+ years directly managing TPMs
  • Experience building and leading TPM teams from scratch
  • Experience scaling TPM teams in fast‑growing environments
  • Experience working across physical and software infrastructure (datacenters, networking, hardware ops, distributed systems, cloud platforms, developer tooling)
  • Experience running large‑scale compute or infrastructure programs (capacity planning, cluster deployments, datacenter build‑outs, cloud migrations)
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex programs to senior leadership
  • Ability to switch between individual contributor work and people management
  • Comfort with making staffing and prioritization decisions under uncertainty

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive 2–3 highest‑priority infrastructure programs while building the team
  • Run programs such as datacenter bring‑up timelines, capacity scaling plans, infrastructure migrations, cross‑team reliability efforts
  • Build processes and playbooks, codifying best practices for the team
  • Earn credibility with engineering leads through solid execution
  • Set standards for TPM work in the domain through own output
  • Coach and develop TPMs, transition programs to the team as hires come in
  • Grow the team by defining roles, writing JDs, sourcing candidates, and closing hires
  • Work with engineering leads to identify TPM‑supportable work and make trade‑offs on staffing
  • Maintain portfolio‑level visibility across programs (status, risks, dependencies, blockers)
  • Represent the team in planning cycles and leadership reviews
  • Coordinate across Infrastructure and partner teams (Research, Product, Security, Finance, Legal) on cross‑boundary programs
  • Drive alignment on programs that span hardware/software lines
  • Own executive communication on program status, risks, and resource needs
