The role is an AI tutor to support SpaceXAI’s mission by creating, grading, and refining competition math problems for AI training. Candidates will use proprietary tools, collaborate with the technical staff, and ensure high‑quality data. Strong math background, competition experience, English proficiency, and analytical communication skills are required. The position is remote, with variable employment types and hourly compensation of $45‑$75 for U.S. based candidates, offering health insurance, 401(k), and paid sick leave for eligible U.S. employees.

Requirements

Skills

  • Distinction in a top-level math competition (e.g., IMO, USAMO, Putnam, etc.)
  • Significant experience coaching competitors in top-level math competitions
  • Master’s or PhD in math combined with past participation in math competitions
  • Proficiency in reading and writing both in informal and professional English
  • Strong ability to navigate various information resources and databases
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational capabilities
  • Solid reading comprehension skills combined with capacity to exercise autonomous judgment even when presented with limited data/material
  • Strong passion for and commitment to technological advancements and innovation

Responsibilities

  • Use proprietary software applications to provide input/labels on defined projects
  • Support and ensure the delivery of high-quality curated data
  • Play a pivotal role in supporting and contributing to the training of new tasks, working closely with the technical staff to ensure successful development and implementation of cutting‑edge initiatives/technologies
  • Interact with the technical staff to help improve the design of efficient annotation tools
  • Design, select, and refine tasks grounded in competition math, including problem creation, rubric creation, solution grading, and proof checking
  • Interpret, analyze, and execute tasks based on given instructions
