Requirements

Skills

  • Experience managing warehouse or logistics operations for physical goods, including receiving, inventory control, and outbound shipping
  • Hands‑on experience with a warehouse management or inventory management system and proficiency with spreadsheets for inventory and shipment data analysis
  • Experience managing third‑party logistics providers or carriers, including negotiating service levels and holding vendors accountable
  • Working knowledge of domestic freight (LTL, FTL, and parcel) and related documentation
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements for shipping and storing IT or electronic equipment, such as hazardous materials rules for lithium batteries
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to coordinate across technical and non‑technical teams and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes from scratch and maintain reliable operations as volume and complexity increase
  • Ability to travel to warehouse and data center sites in the US as needed
  • Preferred: Experience handling data center or enterprise IT hardware, including servers, GPUs, accelerators, and networking equipment
  • Preferred: Experience with international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and export control requirements such as EAR
  • Preferred: Experience with secure chain‑of‑custody programs, asset tagging, and data‑bearing device sanitization or destruction
  • Preferred: Direct management of warehouse staff or contract labor
  • Preferred: Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems and how inventory data flows between them and warehouse systems
  • Preferred: Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methods
  • Preferred: Forklift certification or experience overseeing material handling equipment operations
  • Preferred: Experience supporting rapid infrastructure buildouts in cloud, telecom, or hardware‑intensive industry

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day‑to‑day warehouse operations across North American locations, including receiving, inspection, put‑away, storage, cycle counting, kitting, and outbound fulfillment to data center sites
  • Own inventory accuracy and asset tracking for all infrastructure hardware, compute, MEP, spares, and consumables, maintaining clear chain of custody from dock to rack
  • Plan and execute domestic freight and coordinate international shipments, selecting carriers, managing schedules, and resolving exceptions such as delays, damage, and shortages
  • Manage third‑party logistics providers, carriers, and freight forwarders, including onboarding, service‑level tracking, performance reviews, and cost management
  • Coordinate closely with data center operations, hardware engineering, procurement, and security teams to align delivery schedules with deployment timelines and site readiness
  • Operate reverse logistics for returns, RMAs, and end‑of‑life equipment, including secure handling and disposition of storage devices in partnership with security and compliance
  • Build and document standard operating procedures, checklists, and controls for warehouse and shipping activities, and train warehouse staff and vendors on them
  • Maintain compliance with safety, hazardous materials, export control, and customs requirements for the equipment handled
  • Define and report on operational metrics such as receiving cycle time, inventory accuracy, on‑time delivery, and freight cost, and use them to drive continuous improvement
  • Support capacity planning for warehouse space, staffing, and equipment as hardware volumes and site count grow
