Lead the core team responsible for the data backbone of VTEX’s platform. Oversee the full stack of SQL, NoSQL, search, and object storage solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience in a large‑scale, high‑volume environment. Drive the development of autonomous “storage‑as‑a‑service” environments, self‑service tooling, and integration libraries to accelerate product delivery and boost developer velocity.

Requirements

Skills

  • Strong background in Software Engineering and Platform/Infrastructure engineering
  • Seasoned Engineering Manager with track record managing people and delivering complex technical projects
  • Hands‑on experience with massive scale across relational (PostgreSQL, Aurora), NoSQL (DynamoDB, Redis), search (OpenSearch, Solr) and object storage systems
  • Experience maintaining integration libraries or internal developer platforms
  • Hands‑on with AI/LLMs, automation and modern developer tools
  • Fluent in English

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a mixed team of software and infrastructure engineers
  • Build the strategic roadmap for the entire storage ecosystem, defining architecture patterns, capacity planning, and evolution of SQL, NoSQL, search, and object storage solutions
  • Treat infrastructure as a product, overseeing the development of integration libraries, APIs, and golden paths that reduce cognitive load for developers
  • Guarantee high availability, performance, and resilience across all data layers in a large‑scale, high‑volume environment
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and create a backlog focused on replacing manual requests with automated, self‑service solutions
