Anthropic is seeking a talented and driven Workday Business Systems Analyst to join our People Systems team. You will own the technical configuration, testing, and operational excellence of our Workday HRIS across two domains: PATT and HCM. The role focuses on refining payroll, absence, and time tracking configurations on the PATT side while owning core HCM data structures and security on the HCM side. You will act as a system expert, providing strategic guidance and hands‑on delivery, and you will work across People, Finance, IT, and other business functions to ensure the HRIS is secure, scalable, and a true business enabler.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Payroll components, earnings, deductions, pay groups, schedules, and payroll‑related processes
  • Configure and maintain Absence: time‑off plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and leave types
  • Configure and maintain Time Tracking: templates, validations, work schedules, calendars, and overtime calculations
  • Configure and maintain Core HCM foundations: supervisory organizations, staffing models, job profiles, compensation structures, custom organizations, and worker data integrity
  • Support annual and recurring People cycles in Workday, including compensation review setup, open enrollment configuration, and organizational restructures
  • Design, build, and maintain business process definitions in both PATT and HCM domains
  • Partner with the Payroll team to troubleshoot configuration‑driven payroll issues
  • Apply a strong command of the Workday security model, including role‑based, user‑based, intersection security groups, domain security policies, and integration system users (ISUs)
  • Support security and data audits using Workday audit reports to analyze access patterns and remediate exceptions
  • Perform impact analysis before changes ship, assessing ripple effects across payroll, absence, and time data
  • Lead testing and adoption for Workday’s twice‑yearly releases, including regression testing and rollout of new features
  • Translate business requirements into scalable system design and document configuration decisions
  • Build trusted relationships with partner teams and act as a translator between technical configuration and business needs
  • Support change management for system updates and new functionality, including documentation and enablement materials
  • Build and maintain advanced, matrix, and composite reports and dashboards; support mass data changes via EIB
  • Configure alerts, scheduled reports, and report security to ensure data reaches the right people automatically
  • Triage and resolve day‑to‑day system issues, focusing on root causes rather than patching symptoms
  • Actively seek AI and automation opportunities to strengthen People Systems processes
  • Drive process automation and optimization opportunities across People and partner functions
